Today there has been a really hot debate between my mom and me. My mom was arguing with me that Americans are the most intelligent people in world and I was of course against her whole claim and told her its really stupid to assume that way. But she was not ready to give her opinion up against me and started to argue with me.
All her claim was backed up with three or four T.V shows in discovery channel where some people demonstrate their knowledge about various things in the world. I told her its really stupid to assume all of America is intelligent based on three or four Americans you see in television.
Well you should know that debates never end. But what I understood from this one is, I really think most of us are driven by our memories. For example if you meet a person in train and you come to know that the person is a muslim, now as soon as you find out that he is a Muslim you start to dig deep in to your memory and start to look for a person whom you met already who is a muslim or some program you seen in television where they talked about muslims and start to assume the qualities of that person. Although the person whom you met might have nothing in common about what you known about in your memory but still you will start to treat him thorough the image you got in of Muslims. So don’t you think we are controlled by our memories?
